Our Commitment & Approach
Radonova Cares is an initiative by Radonova, the global leader in radon measurement, aimed at community engagement and raising awareness about radon and its link to lung cancer. Through this initiative, we actively participate in educational campaigns, provide resources, and support community events to inform the public about the risks of radon exposure and the importance of regular radon testing to ensure safer living environments. Our goal is to contribute to the prevention of radon-related health issues by empowering communities with knowledge and tools.
The White Ribbon Project
Radonova recently had the opportunity to host a white ribbon “build” event at our Chicago area headquarters. Volunteers from the Chicago area, radon industry leaders, and lung cancer survivors and their family members joined the Radonova team to cut, sand, paint, and sign over 100 white ribbons. These white ribbons were then distributed within the local community and to radon industry stakeholders in the region.
Radonova Collaborates with Local Community to Promote Testing
For the second year, Radonova, Inc. teamed up with the Illinois suburb of Lombard to provide radon test kits to blood donors during the Lombard Winter Blood Drive. “About 40% of the homes in Illinois have high radon levels,” said Zan Jones of Radonova, Inc. “We wanted to collaborate during the blood drive to spread awareness about radon in the community.”
Maria Steele Shares Her Story of Radon and Lung Cancer
Being told that she had stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to her brain came as a shock to Maria Steele, a Nurse Practitioner for over 40 years from Iowa. Her dry nagging cough had led to a doctor visit, but she had no neurological symptoms. She lived a healthy life, never smoked, and just a few years earlier she and her husband had bicycled over 3,000 miles across the United States.
