  3. Stephan Norman

Accurate and easy way to measure your home!

  4. Rebecca

The whole thing was a great experience, in contrast to competitors who call and offer expensive measurement services along with other things such as mitigation before knowing what your level is.

  5. Jacob R.

Easy to understand instructions. Good information and they make it easy to order and set up the measurement!

  6. Steve Dale

Fast and great experience! I needed to measure radon levels to buy my house. Great website! I bought 2 and even bought several more when my neighbor said that all bedrooms and the kitchen should be measured during a season when radon levels can vary. Fast reporting time and fast delivery overall!

  7. Eric

I got exactly what I needed! Thank you!

  8. Nicholas Erickson

I measured last year and had slightly high levels. I did some mitigation and will measure again this fall. Radanova made it easy throughout the whole process! Thanks so much!

  9. Robert N.

Testing for radon was simple and low-cost, and our Radonova rep was great to work with. We have two young children, and wanted to make sure our basement was safe for them. The results were delivered promptly, and the follow-up was valuable. I would recommend a radon test for anyone with a basement, and Radonova was a great company to work with.

  10. Donna N.

Radonova was literally a life saver for us. Our reasonably priced test kit revealed high levels of radon in our basement, which over time, could have led to serious health issues for our family. We are very pleased with the service we received from our rep and highly recommend radon testing, and this company to provide it!

  11. Sandra Lewis

I received the Radon Test kit but the 4 inch connective strap was not in the package. I have place it in the basement (tied with a 3 inch string) and plan to send it for analysis in early December.

      RE: Sandra Lewis
Thank you for your feedback, Sandra. I am sorry we forgot to include the tie strap with your detectors for use in our QA testing program. Rest assured the tie strap will not impact the test and we will be able to provide you an accurate result when your monitoring period is complete.

  12. Ellyson Ostrovsky (verified owner)

The long-terms kit was sent to me quickly & is easy to use. I am going to test for 3 or 4 months which I think is a better gauge to check levels than over a 2 or 3 day period.

  13. Bill Galbraith

package arrived as promised. easy to install. just waiting for the test to finish.

  14. Lawrence Carlson

Great company. Easy directions for Radon Long Term Test. Pretty fast return of the results. Thanks!

  15. David K

A wonderful product. I live in Florida so this test was important to me. Keep the results in case you sell your home and potential buyers want to know about radon levels.

  16. Kenneth Stanley Faulstich

Quick responses from company and excellent product.

  17. Rick Johnson

Test kit came quickly and easy to set up

  18. Gerald Bentz (verified owner)

Easy to set up in the middle of my living area in the basement. I will test it for 6 months or more to get a average reading. Price of your unit is double what I have used from my county office, but hope it will give a better picture of our radon situation.

  19. nate

Order process was easy and the state of MN provided a $20 discount. Test kit was easy to set up. I will let it sit for at least six months in order to get a quality long term result.

  20. Kathy (verified owner)

Easy to order; instructions were clear. Have placed d vices and will now wait for 6 – 9 or so before sending them in for a reading.

  21. Yvonne

Just put it out-not sure why I was asked to complete a survey already as it is the 90 day test. Directions and registrations were easy.

  22. Caitlin

Very easy set up; instructions were clear

  23. Rich

Fast shipping. Easy to follow instructions. Would recommend!

  24. Herbert Hedstrom (verified owner)

I’m unclear about the purpose of the “blank detector,” and about what I am supposed to do with it. I assume I’m supposed to open the wrapping on the blank detector immediately before sending it and the two other detectors back to you, but the instructions are not really clear about that. Other than that I had no problem following your instructions.

    • Daniel Roak

      RE: Herbert Hedstrom:

Thank you for your feedback, Herbert. I have reached out to you directly to address your concern and we will evaluate our instructions to see if there is any way we can help clarify the procedure for our QA/QC test kits.

  25. Paul Riggs

The shipping and ordering was fast and easy except there wasn’t a place for a discount code, but they promptly issued a partial refund when I inquired about it. Also, finding the place to leave this review wasn’t clear and took a couple of emails to find.

  26. Thomas Gall (verified owner)

The ordering and shipping was quick and easy and the process to set up was fairly easy (some additional instructions at beginning of page where outside the clear instructions at the bottom of page). This is the second house that I’m doing test and your accurate results helped me sell my first house. Thank you

  27. Dexter (verified owner)

This is my third time of using your kits. Everything works great from ordering to shipping to returning and getting the results. Only one weakness that I discovered, and this boils down to human failure on our part, but could be eliminated with one added marking. I was testing two homes during the same period. The person gathering them up brought both of them back to me so I could send them in for results. He did not know which had come from which house. I figured, “no problem, they have serial numbers.” What I did not know until too late was that there was no corresponding number on the paperwork or envelope to tell me which was which. I crossed my fingers and hoped they both came back okay, or both too high, but alas, one was fine and the other too high, so I had to reorder and am redoing the tests. Maybe someday they will have corresponding numbers. In the mean time, as costly as it was, it definitely is a mistake I won’t make again. Thank you again!

  28. Jay Curtis

Great customer service and prompt responses to purchase orders and questions – thank you!

  29. KH

Great service, fast response on the order. Looking forward to the report in 3+ months.

  30. Thom (verified owner)

Ordering and registering on the website was easy. Product arrived quickly, easy to set up and just awaiting the 90 day period to see test results.

  31. Cindy McGhee (verified owner)

As always, I received great customer service with accurate information. The use of the website was very easy and user friendly to order and register my test. My test kit arrived quickly and its very easy to set up.

  32. John

Just started my 90 day test, so not much information to share. Test kit arrived in a reasonable time and the directions were easy to understand.

Easy ordering process; produce arrived on time; good, clear instructions for conducting test and for returning product after test for lab results. I recommend it.

How Dangerous is Radon?

With the lowest survival rate among some of the most common cancers, lung cancer is one of the most feared diseases in the country. Radon gas constitutes the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.  The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 21,000 people die from radon-induced lung cancer per year and in 2005 the Surgeon General of the United States issued a national health advisory on radon.

How Radon Enters Your Home and Why You Should Test for Radon Using a Long Term Radon Test Kit
See how radon enters your home. It is important to use a long term radon test kit to detect how much radon has entered your home.

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, and the Environmental Protection Agency, no fewer than 20,000 lung cancer-related deaths occur in the United States each year, in cases where the lung cancer was determined to have been caused by exposure to Radon Gas.

The World Health Organization reports that globally, 100,000 cases of Radon-related lung cancer also result in death. The National Cancer Institute reports that in the U.S. alone, more than $2 billion are spent in health care costs each year by the victims of Radon-related lung cancer. The EPA also reports that one out of every three homes in the U.S. have tested for Radon at levels exceeding safe exposure.

Radon is a carcinogenic, radioactive gas that causes lung cancer. It is the world’s second most prevalent cause of lung cancer after tobacco use.

This deadly airborne poison is undetectable by sight, smell, or other ordinary sensory means. Only a long term Radon test kit can accurately and reliably detect the presence of Radon. There are a number of Radon detection devices available, but the best way to detect and measure for the presence of Radon in your home, or elsewhere, is by using a high quality, long term Radon test kit.

Why Choose Radtrak²® Long Term Radon Test Kit?

Radonova is a global leader in radon detection theory, equipment, and research. The Radtrak² is our flagship long term Radon test kit is capable of testing your home or office for Radon over a long period of time. With ultra-high accuracy over a prolonged period of time, you will gain a full and clear perspective on the risk of Radon exposure in your location.

About the Radtrak²® Long Term Radon Test Kit

The Radtrak² is a high quality, long-term alpha track Radon detector which provides prolonged detection and measurement over 3 months and up to one year. It is the most thorough and accurate occupational Radon dosimetry monitoring service available on the market today.

The Radtrak² offers an exceptionally large range of Radon detection and measurement at levels as low as 0.4 pCi/l up to 650 pCi/lover a period no shorter than three months. The Radtrak² Radon detector is composed of a high tech film element located in a pod composed of special anti-static plastic which enables Radon gas to enter via diffusion. When Radon gas enters the detector, it marks or leaves ‘tracks’ on the film chip inside During analysis, a state of the art image scanner reads the chips and calculates a total radon concentration.

Why Long Term Radon Detection is Ideal

The EPA categorizes counties according to the risk of radon exposure over time in accordance with long term detection data.

EPA Radon Data is categorized by state and county as follows:

  • Zone 1 (RED): Counties with a predicted average indoor Radon screening level greater than 4 pCi/L
  • Zone 2 (ORANGE): Counties with a predicted average indoor Radon screening level ranging from 2 to 4 pCi/L
  • Zone 3 (YELLOW): Counties with a predicted average indoor Radon screening level falling below 2 pCi/L

The Radon exposure threat assessment for each county and region is only the best available estimate for each location. If you examine the EPA’s map, you’ll notice that each region is defined according to county lines and state boundaries. Naturally, Radon gas is not limited by the borders of states and counties. This means that if you live near the border of a zone marked in yellow, you may, in reality, be in a zone with a high or moderate risk of Radon exposure.

What’s more, Radon levels can change over time. The level of risk for Radon exposure in a given area can change after a seismic or severe weather event. Radon levels can increase or decrease in a given area for other reasons as well, which can be difficult or impossible to predict.

According to Science Direct, a Swedish study from 2004 reported that Radon exposure in a given location coincided with specific geological conditions. These conditions include exposed rock with high levels of radium and highly permeable sediments. If you live in an area with a large amount of exposed rock, you can expect your risk factor to be higher. However, permeable sediments within the soil can be harder to detect. In addition to this, measurements in homes were elevated in cases where poor indoor ventilation was present and where the foundation of a building was cracked or permeable.

As stated, Radon gas cannot be detected without the proper equipment. This means, while it is easily remedied when detected, cases of non-detection pose a great risk to the occupants of an unmonitored building.
