History to Present Day

Radonova, Inc., formerly Landauer Radon, Inc., was born out of Landauer, Inc. (NYSE:LDR), a pioneer in radiation dosimetry. Dating back to the early 1980's Landauer began manufacturing and analysing alpha track detectors (ATD) under the brand name Radtrak. Radtrak quickly became the industry standard for radon testing in the United States.

Gammadata Mätteknik was founded in 1986 in connection with the Chernobyl accident, when a group of researchers at Uppsala University were commissioned by Sweden’s government to measure radioactive fallout inside and outside Sweden. Gammadata Matteknik had been measuring radon on a large scale since 1989 and built a strong reputation for quality and professional approach to the subject of radon gas exposure linked to health risks.

In 2009 Landauer's radon business acquired Gammadata Matteknik AB, the largest radon player in Europe, in an effort to expand their presence in the international marketplace. Gammadata Matteknik became Landauer Nordic, and together with the US based operation this new global radon business represented the largest ATD laboratory in the world.

When approached by investors in 2015, Landauer's radon business separated from Landauer, Inc. becoming its own entity within the family of Lagercrantz Holdings AB, retaining all of the technology, patents, people, processes and expertise.

The new company, Radonova, maintains a high profile within the global radon community, and has been the laboratory of choice for numerous government radon surveys, as well as other public and private sector large scale measurement contracts around the world. A truly global laboratory, Radonova has performed millions of measurements in over 80 countries worldwide.
